Hart House Restaurant Wedding at Deer Lake Park

Nikki and Jeff - May 10, 2018

“And when you smile,
the whole world stops and stares for awhile,
cause you’re amazing,
just the way you are.”

Finding someone you love and who loves you back is a wonderful, wonderful feeling.
But finding a true soul mate is an even better feeling.
A soul mate is someone who understands you like no other,
loves you like no other,
will be there for you forever,
no matter what.
– P.S. I Love You

Take my hand,
take my whole life too.
For I can’t help falling in love with you.
– Elvis Presley

To find someone who will love you for no reason,
and to shower that person with reasons,
that is the ultimate happiness.
– Robert Brault

Yours is the first face that I saw
I think I was blind before I met you
Now I don’t know where I am
I don’t know where I’ve been
But I know where I want to go

– First Day of My Life
Bright Eyes

Every night I watch the sunset and soak up every last ray of its warmth,
and send it from my heart to yours.
– Pearl Harbor

True love is putting someone else before yourself.
– Frozen

She is Persian and he is Jewish and they had a wonderful Persian X Jewish wedding at the beautiful Hart House Restaurant at Deer Lake Park. I love Vancouver and how multicultural this city is. I love different wedding traditions and this wedding is one for the books.

The morning started with both Nikki and Jeff getting ready in separate places at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Nikki got her hair and make up done alongside her mom and closest friends. The boys got ready in another room, just hanging out and having a great time before the 1st look. The first look was at the grand staircase at the Vancouver Fairmont Hotel. This hotel has so much history and I just love the details of the walls and the beautiful marble staircase. Jeff nervously and excitedly waited by the stairs for Nikki to make a grand entrance. They hugged, kissed, and had a little moment to themselves. Their ceremony was held at Deer Lake Park overlooking the gorgeous lake. It was a lovely warm summer day. The chuppah was beautifully decorated with baby’s breath and the floral arrangements were out of this world. The couple had a mix of Jewish ceremony traditions which included breaking of the glass and drinking wine and Persian traditions which included the gorgeous sofreh table. The recessional was celebrated with wine and cocktail hour to follow. We had dinner underneath the tent of Hart House Restaurant. Speeches were made followed by the traditional Persian knife dance. If any of you are unfamiliar, the Persian knife dance involves ladies dancing around Jeff while he gives them money until the ladies feel is sufficient and agrees to let him cut the cake. There were also Jewish traditions such as the hora dance. Nikki later also surprised Jeff and guests with a belly dancer. The night was magical and we had such a blast.

Congratulations again to the beautiful couple as they enter this new chapter!
